1. Vinyl collectors can go crate-digging to their hearts’ delight at the annual CHIRP Record Fair. The event takes place from 8am to 6pm at Plumbers Hall; it will cost you $25 to get in for the first two hours, but admission is only $8 after 10am.

2. Meet scientists, learn about pressing issues and write postcards in support of science-based policymaking at the Field Museum’s Speak Up for Science rally and fair. The free event from 1 to 4pm has moved inside to Stanley Field Hall due to the weather forecast, and museum admission is free for Illinois residents the entire day.

3. The spring slate of beer festivals around the city kicks off today when Maine’s Allagash Brewing Company takes over Off Color’s Mousetrap for Saison Day. Sample a variety of farmhouse-style ales from 11am to 5pm; admission is free.

For more events, check in with Time Out throughout the day.
