1. While Stranger Things fans wait for more news about the Netflix show’s third season, you can see electronic musicians Kyle Dixon and Michael Stein performing their synth-heavy compositions for the series at the Athenaeum Theatre. The all-ages show starts at 8pm, and tickets are $47–$52.

2. See the themes of Shakespeare’s Merchant of Venice transplanted to modern-day Venice Boulevard in playwright Shishir Kurup’s Merchant on Venice, with Hindu, Muslim and Latino influences pervading the SoCal setting. Tonight’s performance is at 7:30pm at the Greenhouse Theater Center, and tickets are $25.

3. Catch some unconventional comedy at FreakFest, a weekly showcase for solo sketch, musical comedy and other creative forms at the home of the Lincoln Lodge. The show starts at 10pm, and admission is $8.
