1. Attend workshops on cooking, beauty and fitness, browse exhibitors at the bazaar, and catch a comedy show featuring Muslim stand-ups at I Heart Halal, a first-of-its-kind festival celebrating the halal lifestyle. Find it at Navy Pier’s Festival Hall through Sunday; events today take place from 11am to 10pm, and admission is $5 online or $10 at the door, with separate tickets required for some special programs.

2. See Thom Britton perform sideshow feats like fire-eating and sword-swallowing while explaining the science that makes them safe in FreakShow and Tell. Tonight’s show is at 8pm and tickets are $15.

3. Get a look inside the galleries and artists’ studios that line South Halsted Street in Pilsen as they open their doors for 2nd Fridays in the Chicago Arts District. Doors are open for free visits from 6 to 10pm.

For more events, check in with Time Out throughout the day.
