The Taste of Chicago is coming back to Grant Park in 2023—but at a later date than usual.
The city’s Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events has announced that the annual food festival will take place on September 8-10. Traditionally, the Taste of Chicago has taken place in early July. However, this year the city will host NASCAR’s first-ever street race during the first weekend of that month.
After an all-virtual event in 2020 and a series of community pop-ups in 2021, a scaled-down Taste of Chicago returned to Grant Park last year. The event will remain free to the public and will feature a variety of bites from dozens of local restaurants, as well as live musical acts and family-friendly activities. In addition, Taste of Chicago pop-ups will happen in three neighborhoods throughout the summer in the lead-up to the festival: Humboldt Park (June 24), Pullman Park (July 15) and Marquette Park (August 5).
The city also announced the dates for several other popular spring and summer events, including the Chicago Blues Festival, the Chicago Jazz Festival and the Chicago Air and Water Show. Read on for all the details.
