You don’t have to go very far in Chicago to find a great watering hole. But starting next month, locals will have the opportunity to savor drinks from one of the best bars in the world.

Mexico City’s Handshake Speakeasy, which was crowned No. 1 on North America’s 50 Best Bars 2024 rankings, is coming to the Windy City in collaboration with the Four Seasons Hotel Chicago. The acclaimed bar will curate the menu at the Mile High Cocktail Club, the intimate 40-seat lounge located in a converted suite on the 46th floor of the hotel. The limited-time experience will be available between November 14 and March 1.

This will be the third year of the Mile High Cocktail Club, a concept that debuted in 2022 and typically runs through fall and winter. The speakeasy offers a selection of inventive craft cocktails paired with stunning, sweeping views of Michigan Avenue and the skyline.

Based in Mexico City’s Colonia Juarez neighborhood, Handshake Speakeasy combines molecular mixology with an appreciation for rare and aged spirits. Bar director Eric van Beek has a unique lineup of creations planned, from the fruity and spicy Salt -N- Pepper (mezcal, strawberry, yellow bell pepper, habanero, salt) to the complex and nutty Butter Mushroom Old Fashioned (bourbon, brown butter, mushroom, maple, walnut). Guests will be able to purchase a two- or four-drink package, including a welcome glass of Champagne.

In celebration of the Four Seasons Hotel Chicago’s 35th anniversary, the space has been transformed by Kehoe Design. Sporting rich hues of greens and vibrant emeralds, the rooms are furnished with plush velvet banquettes and illuminated by candlelight. The bathroom features a photo-ready “Sands of Time” bathtub filled with crystals and emerald gems, paying homage to the former hotel suite.

Reservations for the Mile High Cocktail Club can be booked now via Tock.
