After raising more than $71,000 for 19 local businesses by selling T-shirts via an online store, Buffalo Grove-based Barrel Maker Press is back for round two with a fresh line of shirts that support a new lineup of small Chicago businesses. Barrel Maker teamed up with local marketing firm VSA Partners to launch its latest Saving Small Business Chicago collection, featuring 25 shirts, a trio of face masks and a tote bag. Just like its previous fundraiser, $10 from each shirt sold will be split among all of the businesses represented in the collection.
Designers from VSA Partners supplied many of the graphics that grace the shirts in this collection, including designs that represent local businesses like Thalia Hall, Flowers For Dreams, the Chicago Diner, Quimby's, EZ Inn, FEW Spirits, Ipsento, Brü Coffeeworks, Co-Op Sauce, Paulie Gee's, the Davis Theatre, A Red Orchid Theatre and Eméché Cakery. Other local staples represented in the lineup of shirts are Logan Square's Lula Cafe, Avondale music venue Sleeping Village and two returning designs that celebrate Claudio Velez, the original Tamale Guy.
The current line of shirts range in price from $20 to $25 and will only be available through May 30. All of the items available are being made to order and won't be shipped out for at least two weeks as Barrel Maker is operating with a reduced staff while following social distancing guidelines. Local businesses interested in setting up their own T-shirt fundraisers can reach out Barrel Maker via the printer's fundraising page.
