Missing summer evenings spent on the water? City beaches might not be open quite yet, but in the meantime, you can recreate the luxury of lounging waterside at Chicago's First Lady Floating Rooftop, the latest (and arguably most nautical) addition to the growing roster of Chicago rooftop bars.

Located between Michigan Avenue and Wacker Drive on the Chicago Riverwalk, the floating bar lets guests imbibe cocktails, wine and other boozy treats from the airy upper deck of a Chicago's First Lady Cruises ship. Highlights of the drink menu include classics like the prosecco-and-Aperol Summertime Spritzer and a grapefruit- and rose-infused take on a Moscow mule (both $11; you can see a full menu here). And even though the boat remains docked, its riverside locale means that you'll have a chance to soak in skyline views from your vantage point above the water.

The rooftop space, open Friday through Sunday from 3 to 11pm, is free to enter and doesn't require a reservation; just show up to the Riverwalk to snag a table for up to 90 minutes. Of course, per city guidelines, tables are spaced six feet apart and table service will be in place to promote social distancing—and don't forget a mask!
