Chicago's pizza scene is about to get even hotter: Beloved New York joint Prince Street Pizza is officially opening in West Loop this Thursday, January 16, at 939 W. Randolph St.—and we've got pictures to prove it.

Marking the brand's very first location in the Midwest, the pizzeria is sure to become a new favorite among locals, bringing its iconic Sicilian-style square slices to this side of the country alongside Neapolitan pizzas and signature sauces.

"We are thrilled to open Prince Street Pizza in Chicago as it’s one of the greatest food cities in America, known for its incredible pizza," Prince Street Pizza co-founder Lawrence Longo said in an official press release. "Our signature Sicilian pies are a great balance between the city's famous tavern and deep-dish styles and we look forward to introducing them this fall in Fulton Market. It’s an honor to be surrounded by some of the best restaurants in Chicago, in a neighborhood with such a vibrant food culture."

Standout menu items include the Oakey Smokey, made with original pizza sauce, smoked mozzarella, pecorino Romano, fresh basil and extra virgin olive oil; the Green Machine, prepared with nut-free pesto sauce, shredded mozzarella, ricotta and black olives; and the relatively simple-sounding Prince Perfection, featuring marinara sauce, fresh mozzarella and pecorino Romano.

Also on deck: small pizzettas (just in case you need a little nibble), salads, risotto balls and delectable desserts like the Italian rainbow cake and, of course, the New York cheesecake.

We'd be remiss not to also mention that, according to the press release, Prince Street will install a new filtration system in their new 2,800-square-foot space, in order to replicate "the water used at the original location in New York City," which, according to New Yorkers at least, is one of the things that makes their pies oh-so-special.

We can't wait to try it out ourselves.
