Portillo's third Chicago location will open in Avondale when the city needs it most: just before election day. Joining outposts in River North and South Loop, the highly anticipated North Side restaurant will start slinging hot dogs at 3343 W Addison Street on Monday, November 2 at 10:30am.

Due to COVID-19, guests will have the option to hit the drive-thru or order curbside pickup or delivery to start. The 9,900-square-foot, historically-themed restaurant will open for dine-in service at a later date. For now, Portillo's is banking on its double drive-thru to process hungry customers twice as fast.

To celebrate its new locale, Portillo's partnered with two Chicago-based makers—Reppin' and Ryan Duggan—to create custom enamel pins and T-shirts, respectively, which will be handed out to the first guests through the drive-thru on November 2.

Diners will find all of their Portillo's favorites at the new Avondale location—from the loaded Italian beef and Chicago-style dog to char-broiled burgers and chopped salads. And yes, of course, there will be fudgy chocolate cake.

Can't wait until November for Portillo's Avondale location to open? You can sign up for a sneak peek training meal before the restaurant officially opens next month. Everyone else: Mark your calendar, take the day off work and plan to hit the drive-thru early.
