Spring, where art thou?

Once again, Chicagoans should brace themselves for a whole lot snow this weekend following by a freezing few days.

According to meteorologists, the city could get between 3 and 6 inches of white powder tonight into tomorrow morning. Good news, though: Temperatures will not be too cold until Sunday, so the snow should melt by the time arctic air heads our way.

Next week, though, is a different story.

"Temperatures are expected to drop below zero Sunday night and into Monday morning, with wind chills potentially falling as far as 12 to 20 degrees below zero in some locations," reports NBC Chicago.

Although numbers will hopefully rise to the mid-teens by Tuesday, it will still be colder than it usually is this time of the year—so don't get your hopes up.

Keep in mind that the city will be operating a number of warming centers throughout the week from 9am to 5pm when temperatures are 32 degrees or below. Here is a list of them:

  • Englewood Community Service Center, 1140 W. 79th Street
  • Garfield Community Service Center, 10 S. Kedzie Avenue
  • Martin Luther King Community Service Center, 4314 S. Cottage Grove Avenue
  • North Area Community Service Center, 845 W. Wilson Avenue
  • South Chicago Community Service Center, 8650 S. Commercial Avenue
  • Trina Davila Community Service Center, 4300 W. North Avenue

Stay worm, folks!
