UPDATE: January 30, 2025
Back in October, word got out that Christina Tosi's uber-famous New York-based dessert shop Milk Bar was going to open its first-ever Chicago store in the Fulton Market District and, now, we've got an official debut date: February 8 at 10am.
Given the popularity of the destination in New York, we suspect lines will snake around the block come opening day so you might want to set up a reminder for yourself to get there relatively early. Enjoy!

Sweet lovers of Chicago, unite!
Milk Bar, Christina Tosi's uber-famous dessert destination in New York, is opening its first-ever Chicago shop on the first floor of The Hoxton hotel at 200 N. Green St. in the Fulton Market District this fall. This will be the brand's first Midwest location, and operated in partnership with Chicago's Boka Restaurant Group.
"I am a midwesterner by birth and Chicago has long been one of my favorite cities to visit," said Tosi in an official statement. "Food, culture, sports, and art—the city is teeming with real people doing real things their way: creatively, honestly, and inspiringly. We promise to show up with passion, enthusiasm, and care, serving delicious cookies, cake, pie and ice cream early in the morning until late at night. Chicago, we can't wait to show up for you; we can't wait to call you home."

Given the success and popularity of the dessert shop in New York, we expect Chicagoans will flock to the new business as soon as it debuts to stock up on some of the brand's most iconic offerings, from the rainbow-flecked birthday cake that even Taylor Swift loves to the impossible-to-put-down pies, the iconic Compost Cookie and more.
The Chicago menu will also feature some Windy City specials: A "Hot Dog Bomb" (no ketchup allowed, of course) and a Portillo's Chocolate Cake Cookie, in collaboration with the Chicago institution.
Get ready to gain some dessert weight, folks! We promise it'll be worth it.
