You can't get Chick-fil-A sandwiches on a Sunday, but you can get fried chicken plopped between two buns (with some pickles) from the Chick-Feel-Gay pop-up at Lost Lake. In addition to slinging a selection of cocktails to go, the Logan Square tiki bar's walk-up window is also serving a menu of dishes inspired by the fast food chain that has notoriously donated to organizations that oppose same-sex marriage.
Lost Lake executive sous chef Dani Kaplan launched the Chick-Feel-Gay pop-up last year in celebration of LGBTQ+ Pride and is reviving it on Sunday, June 28 and Monday, June 29, with proceeds going to Hyde Park's Brave Space Alliance. According to the Chicago Reader, the menu features the signature crispy pickle-brined chicken breast sandwich served with waffle fries and Chick-Feel-Gay sauce ($15) as well as a boozy Dyke's Hard Lemonade ($15), made with tequila, Cocchi Americano, vermouth and lemon. You can also snag a rainbow cookie for another $5.
The "hate-free chicken sandwiches" will be available while supplies last on Sunday, June 28 from 11am to 2pm and Monday, June 29 from 4 to 6pm.
