This is a gastronomic team up that we can get behind: Earlier this week, renowned Alinea chef Grant Achatz and beloved hot dog stand The Wiener's Circle teased a possible collaboration involving a corn dog, sending fans into a frenzy that we completely understand.

A true modern day tale of culinary creations, the whole ordeal started with Achatz posting an Instagram story with a photo of a fancy-looking corn dog alongside the caption "@wienerscircle How do you feel about a collab?" The hot dog stand then reposted the upload and added its own comment: "How about f--- yes where do we sign?!"

Although no official statement followed the interaction, Block Club Chicago reached out to Achatz directly, who revealed that the collaboration will likely come to fruition next year as part of Alinea's 20th anniversary.

This wouldn't be Wiener's Circle first local collaborative effort: Earlier this year, the restaurant teamed up with Daisies in Logan Square to create a hot dog croissant that unsurprisingly went viral and we are still thinking about today.

Back to the corn dog: Wiener's Circle actually posted part of the exchange with Achatz on Instagram and fans quickly took to the comments section to express their excitement.

"Instant #ChicagoHistory," wrote an account aptly dubbed @ChicagoHistory.

"I’ve been waiting for this my entire life," someone else commented.

"This is fucking EPIC," a third user noted echoing our exact sentiments.
