Avec's chorizo-stuffed, bacon-wrapped dates are on the move. The beloved West Loop restaurant from Off One Hospitality announced today plans to open a second location in River North. Avec 2.0 will take over the space that formerly hosted Pacific Standard Time at 141 W Erie Street.
The sister spot opens on Friday, February 12, offering both takeout and delivery as well as limited indoor dining in accordance with the city's capacity restrictions.
"We’ve always wanted to offer more from Avec than what our kitchen at Randolph Street would allow," says One Off executive chef Paul Kahan. "Under the leadership of Perry Hendrix over the years, the menu at West Loop has come to highlight flavors that lend to Middle Eastern and southwestern European influence. There are so many great ideas on this new menu and the new location allows us to incorporate more."
While diners can expect some Avec favorites to resurface in River North (i.e. stuffed Medjool dates and "deluxe" focaccia), the two restaurants will "each have their own separate culinary and experiential offerings that match their unique personalities," according to a press release. Kahan and Hendrix will look to Greece and Spain for additional menu inspiration, promising more pizzas, pastas and fish options in River North.
Reservations for Avec River North are now available on Tock; the restaurant will be open Wednesday through Sunday from 4 to 10pm for both dine-in and takeout service.
