Free Cone Day at Dairy Queen, which unofficially kicks off the spring season every year, is back this week on Thursday, March 20! Stop by any participating location and enjoy a free small vanilla soft-serve cone with the brand's classic curl on top completely gratis.

Here are a few things to keep in mind: the deal is only valid at all non-mall locations (or at the mall with a purchase) and the limit is one per person, until supplies last. Unfortunately, delivery and mobile orders do not qualify, so you're going to have to physically go to a location to claim your 220-calorie ice cream.

There are, in total 37 Dairy Queen locations in Chicago: find the one closest to you right here.

What's more, sweets lovers can try their luck and enter for their chance to win free cones for a whole year through the brand's latest sweepstakes giveaway. The prize is a $500 Dairy Queen gift card which is enough to buy a cone a week for 52 weeks. To enter, you have to download the DQ App and sign up for the DQ Rewards (you have to be 18 years old at least to register) by tomorrow, March 19.

If, for some reason, you can't get to any Dairy Queen location on March 20, make sure to set your alarm for April 8, when Ben & Jerry's is scheduled to celebrate its own version of free cone day. Ice cream for all!
