We've got a lot to report on when it comes to the beloved German-style, outdoor holiday market Christkindlmarket

First of all: Organizers recently revealed that this year, the market will not return to Wrigley Field's Gallagher Way. Instead, the Chicago Blackhawks will host the annual NHL Winter Classic on site.

The other two market locations—Daley Plaza in the Loop and RiverEdge Park in Aurora—will, however, make their triumphant returns on November 22.

In addition to all that logistical stuff, we're delighted to reveal that Christkindlmarket's iconic boot-shaped mug is making an official comeback following a five-year-long hiatus. According to ABC Chicago, the last time Chicagoans had the opportunity to purchase the unique drinking vessel was back in 2019.

The boot joins a roster of other festive products as well, including a ceramic beer stein that made its debut last year and looks slightly different in 2024, and the nutcracker, the ideal cup for a hot chocolate or hot apple cider.

“We’re thrilled to bring back the fan-favorite boot mug, along with exciting new designs like the nutcracker mug and the beautifully crafted ornament,” said Maren Biester Priebe, CEO and general manager of German American Events, in an official statement. “These collectibles capture the magic of the market and make perfect holiday keepsakes.”

Both market locations will open on November 22 and operate through December 24—the perfect amount of time to stock up on holiday souvenirs.
