For the next six days, Chicagoans are invited to celebrate the city's top women restaurateurs during the inaugural Women's Restaurant Week. Spanning Wednesday, August 26 through Monday, August 31, the event spotlights more than 15 women-led eateries, all of which are offering dining deals.

The lineup includes a mix of prix-fixe menus, takeout discounts and buy-one-get-one offers at spots like Danielle Dang's HaiSous, Diana Davila's Mi Tocaya, Dana Cree's Pretty Cool Ice Cream and Sandra Holl's Floriole.

The festivities bring to life the James Beard Foundation's Let's Talk Forum, which was founded by Vermilion's Rohini Dey in an effort to help women-owned restaurants "support each other, take collective action, and survive this crisis together." All of the chefs, mixologists and restaurateurs participating in Women’s Restaurant Week belong to the forum.

"It's been incredibly gratifying to come together and back each other at the most brutal time our industry has ever faced," Dey said in a press release. "We plan to continue our collective action, and have a drink together sometime soon! We hope Chicago will rally and help us all survive."
