If you have been pushing off seeing some of the best theater shows currently playing around town, now might be the right time to fit the activity in your schedule: Chicago Theatre Week is officially running from February 6 through 16, and tickets for shows are already on sale.

In total, over 100 shows are part of the discount program. You can browse through the full roster right here. Each ticket will cost you $15 or $30, a fraction of the usual price.

According to an official press release, Chicago Theatre Week 2024 saw more than 18,000 tickets sold—so we expect plenty of people will jump at the chance to snag cheap tickets to shows this year as well. Visiting the best theaters in Chicago is, after all, one of the best things to do in town.

There are clearly plenty of productions to catch, but we'd be remiss not to call out a few, starting with Kenneth Lonergan's Lobby Hero, about the lives of a security guard, his boss and a cop in a Manhattan building.

A Raisin in the Sun is another must-see. Playing at the Court Theatre, the production is obviously a Chicago classic set on the South Side by the local writer Lorraine Hansberry—the first Black woman to ever premiere a play on Broadway.

Fans of Shakespeare will want to buy tickets for Chicago Shakespeare Theater’s Short Shakespeare! A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Keep in mind that the show is about an hour long and does not feature an intermission.

And if plays are just not your thinking, opt for Hubbard Street Dance Chicago’s Winter Series. The contemporary dance company will world premiere a new routine by choreographer James Gregg in addition to other outstanding performances.

So snag your tickets now before they're gone!
