Ramova Theatre will be hosting hometown hero Chance the Rapper on Friday, February 16. This will be his first concert in Chicago since his Acid Rap 10-Year Anniversary tour last year at the United Center.
The show will be open to all ages, with a presale beginning Thursday, February 1 at 10am, and general admission tickets available on Friday, February 2 at 10am. Tickets and more information are available on Ramova Theatre's website.
This will also be one of the first events held at the revived Ramova Theatre, which opened to the public officially on January 3. The new space boasts a 1,500-person live performance space, a brewery supported by Other Half brewing, a restaurant and a beer garden.
Co-founder Tyler Nevius took over the project in 2017. Since then, the building has been registered under the National Register of Historic Places and garnered major support from celebrity and neighborhood investors. Chance the Rapper is one of the major talents involved with ownership and investment of the venue, alongside other notable Chicagoans including Jennifer Hudson and Quincy Jones.
The rapper’s performance will lead up to the upcoming release of his next project, Star Line Gallery. As a mixture of art, music and cinematography, Star Line Gallery will feature collaborations with painters, physical artists and musicians alike to produce a multimedia experience. This will also be the Chance's first full-length album since his 2019 LP, The Big Day.
