Celebrate Pi Day with tons of great deals on pies and pizza

Pi Day, named for the mathematical constant contained within the date 3/14, has gradually evolved into a holiday centered around food—specifically, pie. Every year, bakeries and pizzerias join in on the fun by offering special deals on slices of pie and pizza. Even if you can only rattle off a few digits of pi (3.1415926535), you can still score a discount on some of the best pie and best pizza in Chicago on Thursday. We've assembled some of the most notable Pi Day bargains below.

Baker's Square (all Chicagoland locations)
On March 13 and 14 you can get $2 off any full-sized pie when purchased in-store (sadly, cheesecake and carrot cake are excluded from this offer).

First Slice Pie Café (all locations)
All slices of pie are buy one, get one half off at every Chicagoland First Slice location.

Bennison's Bakery (1000 Davis St, Evanston)
Offering six-inch pies for $3.14 (in-store only, no pre-orders).

Chiya Chai Cafe (2770 N Milwaukee Ave)
Offering two specialty pies, Balti Chicken Savory Pie and Kale and Potato Savory Pie, for $3.14 each.

Cupitol Coffee + Eatery (455 E Illinois St)
Selling miniature Greek pies for $3.14.

The Windsor/Remington's Restaurant (160 E Huron St, 20 N Michigan Ave)
Both restaurants will sell slices of key lime pie for $5 during lunch and dinner.

Jet's Pizza (all Chicagoland locations)
Recite the first three digits of pi and get a small one-topping pizza for $3.14.

Avli Taverna (1335 W Wrightwood Ave)
Selling individual hortopita pies for $3.14

Chicago French Market (131 N Clinton St)
Three vendors at the popular West Loop food hall are offering special Pi Day deals:
Santullo's Slices of cheese pizza are $3.14 from 2pm to close.
Windy City Dawgs
Chicago-style hot dogs are $3.14 (it's not pie, but we're not complaining).
Firenze Street Food All small sandwiches are $3.14 (also not pie, also not complaining).

Bang Bang Pie Shop (2051 N California Ave, 4948 N Damen Ave)
You won't find any discounts being offered, but Bang Bang is offering interesting new flavors like Litchi Rose and Pear Ginger, in addition to its signature Franken-pie, which combines six different slices of pie.

Blaze Pizza (all Chicagoland locations)
Create your own personal pizza for $3.14.

Little Goat Diner (820 W Randolph St)
Score a three-inch French silk pie for $3.14.

Bellemore (564 W Randolph St)
Slices of Butterscotch Pie and Passion Fruit Meringue Pie will be available during lunch hours for $3.14.

Cold Storage (1000 W Fulton Market)
Get a slice of Chocolate Cream Pie, Coconut Cream Pie or Lemon Meringue Pie for $3.14.

Pleasant House Pub (2119 S Halsted St)
In addition to its full menu of savoy meat pies, Pleasant House will serve a special St. Patrick's Day Corned Beef Royal Pie.

The Albert (228 E Ontario)
Offering $3.14 slices of pie, including flavors like Fried Rhubarb, Blueberry Lemon, Chocolate Cream and Banana Coconut.

State and Lake Chicago Tavern (201 N State St)
TheWit Hotel's upscale pub will offer slices of chess pie for a buck.
