It’s that time of the year to bust out the dirndls and lederhosen—Oktoberfest is here!

Can’t make it out to Munich for the annual festival? Don’t fret: Time Out Market Chicago will be celebrating the occasion with festivities on September 21. Join us at the culinary and cultural hub in Fulton Market for an afternoon of beer, brats and live music.

Start the day with a keg tapping at 11am. Gutenburg chef Jorge Kauam will be grilling on the front patio and guests can try a variety of specials, including pretzels, an Oktoberfest Footlong (beer brat, sauerkraut, caramelized onions, mustard), Black Forest Dog (beef frank, crispy potato sticks, curry ketchup, parsley), Guten Dog (pork brat, crispy onions, Guten sauce, mustard) and Bacon Jalapeno Dog (bacon-wrapped frank, jalapeno, cheddar, cheese sauce). There will be food specials from other Market kitchens as well.

Of course, it wouldn’t be an Oktoberfest party without beer so there will be plenty of that flowing all day long. Purchase a half-liter stein—courtesy of Sam Adams—and sip your brew of choice while watching German band Frankkmusic perform from 2-4pm. The Market bar offers a wide selection of local craft beers, alongside cocktails and wines. And there’s no better place to have a drink and take in skyline views than upstairs at Tony’s Rooftop Bar.

Come dressed to impress because we’ll also be holding a contest for the best German outfit. And those who want to show off their strength can take part in a stein hoisting competition (no purchase necessary). The winner’s time will be entered into a national competition against the world’s strongest men.

In short: We can’t wait to see you at the Market on September 21. Prost!
