Although the horrible wildfires that destroyed part of Los Angeles are largely contained, relief efforts are still in full swing—and Chicagoans can now help.

On Wednesday, February 12, Grant Achatz, the famous chef behind gastronomic fine dining destination Alinea, will be hosting a one-night only dinner benefiting those affected by the wildfires. Tickets are available here

The event costs $725 per person, plus optional wine and nonalcoholic pairings, and will be hosted at both the Aviary and Next Restaurant. Attendees will be part of a Q&A session hosted by both Achatz and Brian McGinn, the director and producer of the popular documentary series Chef's Table, which is behind the program. There will also be a cocktail reception and, of course, a special dinner. Attendees will receive a signed copy of Achatz's Alinea cookbok as well.

The evening is part of a larger, national series that will kick off in Chicago and continue through different cities, spotlighting popular chefs as a way to raise funds for the worthy cause.

Tapped cities include New York, Nashville, Philadelphia, Phoenix and, of course, Los Angeles. You can read more about each dinner and purchase tickets right here.

If you have been trying to help out friends and family in need out in California, this is the perfect way to do so without having to fly out there. And you get to experience the cooking of a local culinary icon at one of the city's best restaurants, as well as one of the best bars.
