Following the success of similar activations in New York and London, Warner Bros. Discovery just announced the imminent debut of a Harry Potter store in Chicago. Set to open in the spring of 2025, the new 12,300-square-foot shop will take over 676 Michigan Avenue.

"Our ambition is to bring some Harry Potter magic to Chicago with our uniquely themed shopping experience and unmatched selection of products," said Sarah Roots, EVP Warner Bros. Worldwide Studio Tours and Retail, in an official statement. "I am delighted we have secured such a great property in a prime location and look forward to the opening next year."

Although details regarding the opening are still scarce, we can only imagine that the effort will look like the New York and London stores.

"Every detail of Harry Potter Store New York has been intricately designed, from the decor sitting on the shelves above all the incredible merch (yes, there are full house robes) to the design of the store itself, which has a room full of gorgeous HP stationary by MinaLima, massive models of Fawkes the Phoenix and a moving griffin as well as a spiral staircase that descends into a space made to look like the Ministry of Magic," Time Out New York editor Shaye Weaver reported when the destination first opened in 2021.

From real movie props—the Ministry of Magic's red phone box! Hagrid's boots!—to a real-life version of Honeydukes and the Butterbeer Bar, the original iterations of the shop feel like an actual immersion into the world of wizardry—an experience that Chicagoans are sure to enjoy.
