Time Out Market Chicago is temporarily closed to dine-in guests (we're bummed about it, too!), but that doesn't mean that you have to go without Split-Rail's world-class fried chicken, Urbanbelly's addictive dumplings or Pretty Cool's whimsical popsicles. Many of the market's eateries are offering delivery and takeout from their flagship locations, making it easier than ever to get your hands on some seriously delicious eats.
It won't be long until we're all dining together again in the West Loop, but until then, consider browsing the to-go menus at some of the best restaurants in Chicago. Plus, we'll tell you how to support the market restaurants that aren't offering delivery right now. Credit cards at the ready, folks!
Arami
Arami is back with a menu of maki and poke available for curbside pickup and delivery. Start with an order of spicy king crab wrapped in marinated tuna before selecting a few rolls to share (the Trio Maki with yellowtail, tuna and salmon is a classic). A new lineup of poke bowls offers something for everyone, with salmon, hamachi, shrimp tempura and tuna to choose from. Find it on: Caviar or by phone (312-243-1535)
The Art of Pizza
We think about Art Shabez's saucy, cheese-stuffed pies more often than we'd like to admit, and thankfully, we don't have to go a day without them. The Art of Pizza offers its massive menu for delivery and pickup, which means you can get stuffed pies, mozzarella sticks and meatball sandwiches ferried straight to your door. Find it on: Slice, Uber Eats and DoorDash
El Che Steakhouse & Bar
So, your grocery store's meat counter is cleared out, eh? El Che is hosting an on-again, off-again virtual butcher pop-up shop, offering up its finest cuts and bottles at discounted rates. Fill out an order form to get your paws on short ribs, lamb chops, strip steaks and beef marrow bones—all available only for pickup. Tack on bottles of vino for $30 a pop, including riesling, malbec and blanc de blanc. Find it on: elchechicago.com
Dos Urban Cantina
From April 24 to 26, husband-and-wife team Brian Enyart and Jennifer Jones Enyart are offering two family meals available for pickup—choose from pork carnitas with all the fixings or tamal azteca, a.k.a. Mexican lasagna. Both meals include one of Jennifer's famous desserts, so the toughest decision of all is chocolate cake or tres leches? Luckily, there's no wrong answer. Find it on: dosurbancantina.com
The Duck Inn
When you order delivery from the Duck Inn, you can browse the Bridgeport restaurant's classic eats (like the decadent hamburger sandwich and fried cheese curds with Bloody Mary ketchup) as well as the menus from chef Kevin Hickey's Time Out Market concepts, Duck Inn Dogs and Decent Beef. And yes, the fan-favorite elote corn dog is available for delivery. Find it on: Uber Eats, Grubhub and Caviar
Entente
Chef Brian Fisher allows diners to bring home a Michelin-level experience, with a variety of family meals to choose from, including grilled short ribs with potato puree, roasted broccolini, chicory salad and a Hostess-style chocolate cupcake with fig leaf fluff. Feeling fancy? Throw in caviar service and a bottle of bubbly. Find it on: Tock
Interurban Cafe & Pastry
What we wouldn't give for a slice of pastry chef Christine McCabe's confetti cake right now! But in the meantime, we'll gladly keep our fridge stocked with take-and-bake pizzas, turkey meatballs, salads and chocolate chip cookies from her sister spot, Interurban. Find it on: interurbanchicago.com
Lost Larson
The bakers at Lost Larson are back in the kitchen, whipping up some of our favorite sugar-filled pastries, which is, coincidentally, exactly what we need right now. They're taking pre-orders for pickup in Andersonville, but if you spend more than $75, you qualify for delivery. You can also stock up on fresh-baked loaves, wine and coffee beans. Find it on: lostlarson.com
Mini Mott
When burger cravings strike, no one is better equipped to provide the fix than this Logan Square joint. The signature burger is built with two griddled patties, gooey American cheese, hoisin aioli, pickled jalapeños, miso butter, onions and sweet potato frizzles. If you want to toss in something green, the wedge salad with nori-bonito dust travels incredibly well. Find it on: Caviar
Mott St.
For the first in its illustrious history, Mott St.'s most beloved dishes are available to go, including the O.G. Mott burger, everything wings and stuffed cabbage with pork butt and sticky rice. A small selection of bottled wines are also available for purchase. Find it on: Caviar
Pretty Cool Ice Cream
We'll let you in on a little secret: Social distancing is a hell of a lot easier when your freezer is stocked with popsicles from Pretty Cool Ice Cream. Owner and pastry genius Dana Salls Cree is offering curbside pickup when you order ahead, and you can choose from flavors like mango lassi, caramel horchata crunch, pink cotton candy and matcha berry. One of each, please! Find it on: prettycoolicecream.com
The Purple Pig
Chef Jimmy Bannos Jr. wants to make you a proper Italian feast that's loaded with enough food for leftovers the next day. Each family meal comes with a mixed green salad, pasta dish and protein—expect hearty favorites like rigatoni with Sunday gravy and chicken cacciatore. Psst! Select wines are also available for purchase. Find it on: Tock
Split-Rail
There are certain foods that are best left to the pros, and chef Zoe Schor's flawless fried chicken is one of them. Lucky for us, Split-Rail is offering its full menu (and a few surprises if you keep an eye on Instagram) for takeout and delivery. Load up on crispy poultry, tater tots, mac and cheese and one of the best biscuits we've ever tasted. Find it on: splitrailchicago.com
Tortello
Though this sweet Wicker Park pasta shop is closed for the time being, you can still find their fresh, hand-made noodles and meal kits at Foxtrot, Totto's Market and Paulette's.
Urbanbelly
Load up on the most comforting of comfort foods with Urbanbelly's pan-Asian menu of dumplings, rice bowls and soups. As an added bonus, the kids menu makes it an ideal choice for families, with dishes like katsu chicken over steamed rice and kids noodle soup. We'll slurp to that! Find it on: Caviar, Ritual, DoorDash or by phone (773-904-8606)
