After more than three decades together, stalwart indie-rockers Yo La Tengo are still a band that is full of surprises. The group's 2020 release, We Have Amnesia Sometimes, assembled five droning instrumental tracks recorded at the band's practice space with a single microphone. Those ambient sounds could very well crop up in contemporary Yo La Tengo live sets, which are usually filled with unexpected moments—yes, they'll probably play "Autumn Sweater," but you might also hear a noisy Velvet Underground cover or a subdued acoustic rendition of a very old track. During this special Goose Island 312 Day show, the group is joined by Black Duck, a local trio featuring Doug McCombs, Bill MacKay and Charles Rumback.
