Tyler, the Creator owes much of his current success to the controversy that he generated as the sophomoric figurehead of Odd Future, the anarchic California hip-hop collective that introduced Earl Sweatshirt and Frank Ocean to the world. But Tyler's more recent solo records have moved beyond the shocking and often problematic rhymes of his past, taking a more open and confessional tone about the artist's own sexuality. His latest release, Call Me If You Get Lost, is a record styled like a mixtape, filled with short ideas and some expansive narrative tracks—plus guests like Lil Uzi Vert, Lil Wayne, Ty Dolla $ign and Pharrell. Touring in support of the new project, Tyler's United Center show features opening sets from R&B singer-songwriter Kali Uchis and rapper Vince Staples.
