It's hard for band to not sound romantic with both a boy and girl singing. Sometimes the boy is chasing the girl, sometimes her vocals are following his lead. The formula, and some big hooks (and having "Naked" in its name), helped this New Zealand pop band work its way into many hearts. Shouting, not just singing about heartbreak and crushes, Alisa Xayalith and Thom Powers gush the emotions of twentysomething (no wonder advertisers love them) over synthesized anthems that meld M83 and Abba. "Young Blood," indeed. Three years have passed since the Kiwis' debut, Passive Me, Aggresive You. Expect some new future jingles and mixtape gems.
