One of the best rock bands New York ever produced, Television was the mid-'70s punk scene's most artistically ambitious combo. It eschewed Ramonesy minimalism in favor of post-psychedelic experimentation, applying the spirit of jazz improvisation to the guitar-band format. The quartet reunites sporadically, with Jimmy Rip replacing Richard Lloyd. Supposedly, a new record is in the works, and on the festival circuit they've been playing Marquee Moon in full, but we're fine with hearing their first single for Ork, "Little Johnny Jewel," over and over.
