The Old Town School of Folk Music hosts a trio of MLK Day events, beginning with a celebration of Martin Luther King, Jr. for kids ages 6 and under (and their parents), with music provided by Shanta Nurullah and Zahra Baker. Later in the day, teaching artist and performer Bill Brickey will host two sing-alongs that focus on music of the ’60s civil rights movement, including tunes by Marvin Gaye and Sly Stone.
