Wild but intricate free improvisation from cellist Lee, who has worked with Christian Marclay, Thurston Moore and Evan Parker among many others. The Korean cellist has been a mainstay of the downtown NYC avant-garde for more than a decade now, but this is her first solo performance in Chicago, as part of the Frequency Series. Expect works from her 2013 album Ghil, which shreds and flays her instrument to create what sounds like a piano being crushed and wadded up in the fist of a titan. It's heavy.
