For some, Labor Day weekend is a time for cookouts and road trips. For others, the first weekend of September is the time for an annual pilgrimage to Union Park, where people in colorful costumes congregate to see jam bands, hip-hop acts and DJs at North Coast Music Festival.
The event's first day was simply beautiful, boasting sunny skies and none of the evacuations that have plagued other summer music festivals. While acts like Wale and Widespread Panic performed, we saw attendees walking around on stilts, creating art and hugging suspended beanbags. Check out more photos from Friday at North Coast.
