Moontype + Wombo

Local indie rock trio Moontype belatedly celebrates the release of its debut album, Bodies of Water, which finds singer Margaret McCarthy celebrating the bonds of friendship throughout an unhurried suite of songs. Formed by a group of college friends, Moontype trafficks in understated arrangements that hide jazz-inspired melodies and tricky time signatures—but it's the emotional heft of the band's lyrics that does the heavy lifting. Kentucky off-kilter indie-popsters Wombo open the show.
