Kremerata Baltica

On February 18th, ECM New Series is releasing a Kremerata Baltica double CD featuring exclusively the music of Mieczysław Weinberg and on February 7th, Chicago gets a preview of this enticing album. A composer of extraordinary ability that mercifully escaped the pogroms of World War II, Weinberg is finally starting to receive his due in recent years and for Friday’s show, the Kremerata delivers his five-movement Symphony No.10 for strings Op. 98 with violin swashbuckler Gidon Kremer at the helm.
