Given the quality of concerts DCASE has been programming in recent history, it makes me wish the Cultural Center would live-stream its free shows on a massive screen overlooking Michigan Ave. The International Contemporary Ensemble has certainly been delivering the goods with its OpenICE series in Preston Bradley, and I’m especially amped to see the trio of Joshua Rubin (clarinet), Jacob Greenberg (piano) and Ross Karre (percussion) on the bill Sunday afternoon. Mozart, Berg and Kurtág are all excellent reasons to attend, but I’m most intrigued by the new jams finishing out the show: Klaus Lang: the whitebearded man. the six frogs for piano and percussion and Felipe Lara’s Livro dos Sonhos for clarinet and piano.
