A breakout talent from Chicago's fertile drill scene, G Herbo was only 16 when he met Drake and recieved a shoutout from the hip-hop star. He named his latest album 25, for many of the same reasons that Adele once did, reflecting on his quarter century on this planet and the challenges that he's confronted as he's become a successful musician. While friends like 21 Savage and Polo G show up for a few verses, the expansive tracklist is dominated by G Herbo's voice reflecting on his tumultuous upbringing and the violence that still plagues the streets he grew up on. It's heavy subject matter, but in G Herbo's hands, it's the backbone of tracks that reckon with where the rapper has been and what he still carries with him.
