Speaking of adventurous programming, young new-music instigators Fonema Consort seem to be marching to the beat of their own demented drummer…and I’m digging that beat. The vocally-driven ensemble is deep into the relationship between acoustic and amplified music, and its Constellation program boasts a composer roster I’m eager to hear. If you hail from the “I heard it when” listener variety, be there to catch the world premiere of Alexander Sigman’s epiglottis for two sopranos, flutes, cello, contrabass, electronics, and video projection, a piece which will one day be transformed into a full-blown chamber opera.
