Over eight albums and 15 years, Dr. Dog has established itself as an approachable, artisanal take on jam bands and Pearl Jam. The Philly band is working with well-worn material-'60s pop, '70s rock, '90s indie-lightly tweaking its formula with occassional bursts of New Orleans horn or banjo, without ever shaking the lo-fi, homespun charm. 2013's B-Room offered more of the same, but you get the sense it's merely a reason to hit the road again.
