DJ Shadow

Turntablist and producer Josh Davis has spent his entire career living in the shadow (no pun intended) of his immaculately sampled debut album, Endtroducing. Though he has long refused to simply repeat himself, 2016's The Mountain Will Fall is DJ Shadow's most cohesive attempt at reinvention to date. Including collaborations with hip-hop supergroup Run the Jewels and rising German composer Nils Frahm, the record is a genre-hopping pastiche grounded by some skillful instrumental production.
