Amanda DeBoer Bartlett has never been one to shy away from the most exacting and lung-collapsing entries in the new music repertoire, and for her Frequency Series recital, she will be riding into battle one of the behemoths: George Aperghis’s Récitations pour voix seul. A 40-minute feat of artistic and physical tenacity, Récitations is incredibly only one of three pieces on the program, alongside Carola Bauckholt’s Vollmond, unter null and perhaps my favorite title of 2014, Witford Rimley and His Robot Dog Sieze Burger King in a Bloodless Coup by Jessie Marino.
