God only know what we'd do without the music of Brian Wilson, the one-time leader of youthful California rockers the Beach Boys who steered the group into experimental territory well before "Kokomo" became its dominant contribution to pop culture. Returning to Chicago (after an appearance at Pitchfork Music Festival) on a tour that celebrates the 50th anniversary of Pet Sounds, Wilson is far past his prime—his largest contribution to the performance is his mere presence, perched behind a piano. Still, this is probably your final chance to see these songs performed with their writer in attendance. For anyone with a certain amount of nostalgia for these classic melodies, it's an opportunity that's too good to pass up.
