Affable, dope-smoking, trucker-hat–clad singer-songwriter Justin Vernon emerges from his studio in Eau Claire, Wisconsin to support a new collection of songs that somewhat obliquely confront the looming threat of climate change and divisive politics. Throughout i,i, Vernon combines the glitchy arrangements of Bon Iver's 2016 album, 22, A Million, with the more direct, falsetto-strewn melodies of his earlier records, melding experimental electronic flourishes with the inviting tones of acoustic instruments. While bringing these songs to life in an arena, Bon Iver's performance is augmented by an impressive light show, which uses a customized array of moving mirrors to bend light and create dazzling illuminated patterns. Canadian singer-songwriter Feist (best known for her numerical single "1234") opens the show.
