Avalon String Quartet

The Avalon String Quartet kicks off its annual concert series in the Art Institute's Fullerton Hall with a program dedicated to Soviet Jewish composers. The capable quartet will play selections by Dmitri Shostakovich and Polish-born Soviet Jewish composer Mieczyslaw Weinberg, accompanied by a short lecture linking the music to pieces in the museum's collection.
