Almost four years after a hailstorm destroyed over 60 percent of its glass roofs, the beautiful, serene Garfield Park Conservatory celebrates its proper grand re-opening. The event, which marks the completion of three years worth of repairs and replantings, offers a full day of activities, including a bike ride, music, the official re-starting of the Fern Room waterfall, and much more. The Westinghouse High School choir and concert band perform at 9:30am, and the conservatory officially re-opens at 10am.
Come back on Sunday, April 26, for a free yoga class at 9am, a Joffrey Ballet performance at 2pm and food trucks parked outside from 1–4pm, plus a host of other activities.
