Secret diva of the frigid north, Canada's Lanza proves that frigid can be deeply sexy. Her downtempo soul recalls the ethereal babydoll synth-pop of Grimes, and James Blake, albeit with chillier R&B beats and steamier vocals. Her 2013 debut for Hyperdub, Pull My Hair Back, saw her collaborating with Jeremy Greenspan of the wonderful Junior Boys. "Keep Moving" picks up the pace into syrupy '80s funk, but its cuts like "Kathy Lee," pure weird slo-mo striptease candy, that truly mesmerize. Sorry for putting the image of Kathy Lee working a pole in your mind-but it's really rather fantastic.
