The Chicago White Sox announced Wednesday that the team’s home stadium would be changing its moniker from U.S. Cellular Field (named in 2003 for a cellular provider that abandoned the Chicago market not long after) to Guaranteed Rate Field, named for a mortgage company that has a giant red downward-pointing arrow for a logo—not, perhaps, the most promising symbol to associate with a sports team. Fan reaction turned quickly to mockery, but also some semi-constructive criticism under the hashtag #BetterSoxStadiumNames. Behold the crowdsourced wonder.
