If you're already planning on attending the Pitchfork Music Festival or Chinatown Summer Fair this weekend, why not get a bit of exercise on the way there? Divvy is offering free 24-hour passes on July 16 and 17 as part of a summer promotion designed to introduce the new users to Chicago's bright blue bike-sharing service.

To snag one of the free passes, you'll need to provide your name and email address on Divvy's website. You'll be emailed a unique code that can be redeemed at any Divvy station—just use the kiosk to purchase a 24-hour pass and enter your code when prompted. You'll still be asked to swipe a credit card, but as long as you don't take a Divvy bike out of a station for more than a half-hour at a time (rides are limited to a maximum of 30 minutes), you won't be charged.

Of course, you don't necessarily have to go anywhere on your gratis Divvy ride—The 606 or the Lakefront Trail are both great places to pedal aimlessly. Remember to bring a helmet!
