Outdoor movie season is in full swing, but credits will roll on the annual summer tradition by the end of August, and the Millennium Park Summer Film Series wants to go out on a high note. Today, the city announced it will allow fans to vote on the final summer film to be screened in Pritzker Pavilion on Tuesday, August 30 at 6:30pm.

Instead of allowing individuals to vote for any film that strikes their fancy (we're afraid our dream of an Evil Dead II screening will once again go unfulfilled), organizers have narrowed the ballot to 20 Chicago movies. The full list includes Adventures in Babysitting, Ali, Backdraft, Barbershop, Blues Brothers, Color of Money, Divergent, High Fidelity, Home Alone, Love Jones, My Best Friend’s Wedding, Ordinary People, Public Enemy, Risky Business, Road to Perdition, The Dark Knight, The Fugitive, Transformers 3: Dark of the Moon, The Untouchables and While You Were Sleeping.

Voting will run through August 16, with the winner announced on August 23. Millennium Park Summer Film Series attendees can vote for their favorite option at the remaining summer screenings, while everyone else can cast a ballot online. Do your civic duty and make sure we don't have to watch CGI robots from space destroying some of our city's most hallowed landmarks during the waning days of summer.
