Last year, Redfin named Andersonville one of the top 10 hottest neighborhoods in the U.S., but this year Chicago took the cake.
Ukrainian Village was awarded with the hottest neighborhood in America title in Redfin's 2016 ranking, ahead of Eastwood in Nashville and Ericsson in Minneapolis.
The ranking is based on growth in page views and favorites on Redfin.com. Characteristics all cities seemed to share this year was a mixture of public transit access, costliness and "charm." Ukrainian Village was also noted for its architecture and streets lined with tall, leafy trees. The median price of a home in Ukrainian Village was $472,000, and homes in the neighborhood spent a median of 22 days on the market.
Redfin also mentioned West Loop and East Village as up-and-coming desirable neighborhoods, with median sale prices of $368,500 and $482,200, respectively.
