At this juncture in the fall, music festivals seem like a distant memory from a time when trees were covered with leaves and coffee didn't taste like artificial pumpkins. Thankfully, we have at least one citywide music event to look forward to between now and next spring. The annual Tomorrow Never Knows festival—which is organized by the folks who run local venues Schubas and Lincoln Hall—will bring a cavalcade of bands and comedians to town from January 13–17.
The initial lineup for the 2016 edition of the festival was announced this morning, including familiar acts like fierce alt-rock outfit Bully, energetic UK indie popsters the Go! Team and hilarious bearded comedian Nick Thune. Concerts will take place at Schubas, Lincoln Hall, Metro, Smart Bar and the Athenaeum Theatre, while comedians will entertain crowds at the Hideout. Tickets for the preliminary slate of shows go on sale Friday at noon—you can also snag a five-day pass to the entire festival for $100. More acts will be announced as the event draws closer.
