Toby Keith's I Love This Bar and Grill (yes, that's really what it's called) has long been the butt of jokes about the dining options in Rosemont, but the Daily Herald recently reported that the country-themed establishment is facing eviction. Boomtown Entertainment, the restaurant operator that licenses the use of the country music star's name, currently owes the village nearly $700,000 in back taxes and rent. The Rosemont eatery wouldn't be the first Toby Keith joint to shut down—Boomtown has closed many other locations of the I Love This Bar and Grill chain in recent months.
Since opening in 2012, the Rosemont location of Toby Keith's culinary chain has been serving up Southern-inspired dishes like bacon-wrapped shrimp and grits as well as a cheeseburger with menu item names like "the American Soldier," "She's a Hottie" and "Should've Been a Cowboy." The village is already shopping the space to potential new tenants—personally, we think Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville is a shoo-in.
